Our event is an engaging and educational experience designed to take sisters and children through the sacred pilgrimage of Hajj. Through interactive workshops and hands-on activities, participants will learn about the key rituals of Hajj in a fun and memorable way.
Upon arrival, each guest will receive a tour ticket and a Hajj map. As they complete each station, they will collect stamps on their map, encouraging active participation and a sense of accomplishment.
Event Structure:
- Guest Entry:
- Distribute tour tickets and Hajj maps to all attendees.
- Explain that guests will collect stamps on their map as they complete each station.
- Opening Remarks:
- The host will introduce the event, provide a brief explanation of Hajj, and outline how the workshops will function.
- Guests will then be divided into small groups to rotate through the interactive stations.
- Interactive Stations:
- Miqat & Ihram
- Explanation of Miqat (entry points) and Ihram (sacred state for Hajj).
- Demo: Two children will be dressed in Ihram to visualize the attire.
- Activity: Children will write their intention (niyyah) on heart-shaped cards, place them in a small pouch, and recite the Talbiyah together before moving to the next station.
- Mina
- Campsite Simulation: A pretend Mina campsite will showcase the experience of staying in tents.
- Visual Display: Historical pictures of Mina over time will be displayed.
- Explanation of prayers and reflection during the stay at Mina.
- Arafat
- Explanation of Arafat and the significance of the Day of Arafah.
- Prayer Tree Activity: Participants will write du’as (prayers) on leaf-shaped cards and attach them to a prayer tree, symbolizing the prayers made on this sacred day.
- Share insights from the Final Khutbah (Sermon) delivered by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
- Muzdalifah & Jamarat
- Explanation of Muzdalifah, the collection of pebbles, and the Jamarat (stoning of the devil).
- Pebble Collection: Children will gather foam pebbles to use for the next activity.
- Jamarat Wall: Children will practice “stoning” by throwing their foam pebbles at a mock Jamarat wall, reinforcing the symbolism of rejecting evil.
- Qurbani & Hair Cutting
- Explanation of Qurbani (sacrificial offering) and the value of sharing with the less fortunate.
- Discuss the symbolic meaning of hair cutting as a sign of spiritual renewal.
- Tawaf
- Explanation of Tawaf (circumambulation) around the Ka’bah.
- Hands-On Activity: Children will perform a mock Tawaf around a mini Ka’bah model.
- Visual Display: Pictures of the Ka’bah and the Masjid al-Haram from various points in history will be shown to highlight its significance.
- Safa & Marwa
- Explanation of Safa and Marwa, including the story of Hajar and her search for water.
- Interactive Walk: Children will reenact Hajar’s journey by walking 7 times between models of Safa and Marwa.
- Zamzam Well
- Explanation of the Zamzam well, its origins, and the rediscovery by Abdul Muttalib.
- Hands-On Activity: Children will collect water in small bottles from a mini Zamzam dispenser as a keepsake.
- Visual Display: Show images of the Zamzam well throughout history.
- Conclusion: The event will conclude with the collection of completed maps and a brief reminder of the spiritual lessons learned. This immersive experience will give participants a deeper understanding of Hajj while fostering community engagement and reflection.
