Designed for students of all backgrounds, this part-time course runs 2 to 3 days a week, from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM, allowing you to study in-depth Islamic sciences alongside your daily commitments.

Over 8 years, you will cover key disciplines including:

  • Fiqh (Jurisprudence)
  • Aqeedah (Creed)
  • Arabic language

Details of subjects studied throughout the first 4 years of the course

Year 1

(Beginner’s) Quranic Arabic

The subject of Beginner’s Quranic Arabic is an introductory subject that focuses on understanding the Arabic language specifically for reading and comprehending the Quran. This subject is designed for students with little to no prior knowledge of Arabic. It will cover the major rules of Arabic grammar and syntax, which will then be applied to the study and recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha and the last 15 surahs (chapters) of the Quran.

Sarf (Arabic Morphology)

The subject of Arabic Sarf (Verb Morphology) is an essential component of Arabic language study that concentrates on verb structure and form. This course delves into the principles and rules governing verb morphology in Arabic, enabling students to recognise and analyse the various verb forms and conjugations. Through the study of Arabic Sarf, students will enhance their overall proficiency in Arabic and develop the skills to comprehend and use verbs accurately in different contexts.

Beginner Fiqh

The Beginner Fiqh subject introduces students to the foundational principles and practises of Islamic Jurisprudence and provides a solid understanding of the rules and rituals related to purity (Taharah) and prayer (Salah) so they can confidently and correctly perform these essential acts of worship.

Hadith

The subject of Hadith, concentrating on a selection of 25 Hadith from Imam Nawawi’s 40 Hadith compilation, is an enlightening exploration of the profound teachings and wisdom encapsulated in this revered collection. By studying these Hadiths, students will gain insights into the fundamental principles of Islamic belief, ethics, and spirituality, enabling them to apply these teachings to their lives and deepen their connection with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his teachings.

Year 2

Quranic Arabic

Quranic Arabic is a foundational component of Islamic studies that focuses on understanding the language and grammar of the Quran. This course specifically covers the second two juz’ (portions) of the Quran, allowing students to develop a solid understanding of Arabic vocabulary, grammar, and the meanings of selected verses from these sections.

Sarf

The Sarf (Verb Morphology) class serves as a follow-up to the foundational course, providing students with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of Arabic verb forms and conjugations. This advanced level course focuses on refining the students’ skills in recognising and applying complex verb patterns and forms. Through comprehensive lessons and in-depth analysis, this course aims to enhance the students’ proficiency in Arabic verb morphology, enabling them to express themselves with precision and eloquence.

Fiqh

The Advanced Fiqh course serves as a follow-on to the beginners’ level, focusing on the study of the esteemed Tuhfa al-Tullab text. This advanced-level course aims to provide a deeper understanding of the chapters on purity and fasting, while emphasising the importance of studying the original Arabic text. Students will engage in comprehensive analysis and exploration of the text, allowing them to enhance their comprehension of intricate rulings and practices related to purity and fasting in Islamic jurisprudence.

Zaad

Zaad is based on the book “Zaad al-Talibeen,” a compilation of short one-line hadiths, and concentrates on Arabic Hadith application. This subject aims to help students understand these Hadiths’ meanings, Arabic application, and grammatical breakdown. Through this book, students will develop skill in using the Arabic language, growing their vocabulary, and appreciating the grammatical intricacies of hadiths.

Qasas

The Advanced Arabic Comprehension course focuses on the study of the esteemed Arabic text, Qasas al-Nabiyeen. This course offers an opportunity for students to deepen their comprehension of the Arabic language while immersing themselves in the captivating narratives of the Prophets. Through comprehensive analysis and exploration of Qasas al-Nabiyeen, students will not only enhance their language skills but also gain a profound understanding of the lives and teachings of the Prophets in Islamic history.

Nahw

The Advanced Arabic Grammar course serves as a continuation of the Beginners Quranic Arabic classes, focusing on further enhancing students’ understanding and proficiency in Arabic grammar. This course aims to deepen students’ knowledge of grammatical structures, syntax, and morphology in order to enable them to comprehend and analyse more complex Arabic texts. By building on the foundation laid in the beginners’ classes, students will develop advanced grammar skills essential for the study of classical Islamic texts and beyond.

Year 3

Quranic Arabic

This subject specifically covers the second two juz’ (portions) of the Quran, building upon the knowledge acquired in the previous year. It aims to deepen students’ understanding of Arabic vocabulary, grammar, and the meanings of selected verses from these sections.

Advanced Fiqh (Qudoori)

The Advanced Fiqh course focuses on the study of Qudoori’s chapters on Salah (Prayer) and Zakat (Almsgiving) through the original Arabic text. This course provides an immersive exploration of the fiqh rulings related to these vital acts of worship in Islam. By delving into Qudoori’s comprehensive text in Arabic, students will enhance their understanding of the legal aspects, etiquettes, and practical implementation of Salah and Zakat according to the Hanafi school of thought.

Year 3 Nahw serves as a natural continuation of Year 2 Nahw, expanding on the foundation established in previous classes. It focuses on advanced grammatical structures, syntax, and morphology, as well as the further development of students’ understanding and proficiency in Arabic grammar. By the end of year 3, students will be equipped with the necessary skills to comprehend and analyse complex Arabic texts, particularly classical Islamic literature, and will have an enhanced grasp of advanced grammar concepts essential for deeper language exploration and scholarly pursuits.

Year 4

Usool Hadith

Usool Hadith focuses on the study of the principles of Hadith with a specific emphasis on the analysis and application of Hadith chains (Sanad) and their narrators (Ruwat). This course aims to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to critically examine the authenticity and reliability of Hadiths, understand the methodologies of Hadith scholars, and apply this understanding in the study of Islamic teachings. By delving into the intricacies of Hadith chains and their breakdowns, students will develop a deeper appreciation for the science of Hadith and its significance in Islamic scholarship.

Advanced Fiqh (Qudoori)

Qudoori in year 4 is a continuation of the students’ previous studies, providing them with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the principles and rulings in Islamic Jurisprudence. This course focuses on the chapters of Hajj (Pilgrimage) and Trade, exploring the intricate aspects of these topics as outlined in the book Qudoori. Students will develop a comprehensive understanding of the rulings, procedures, and practical applications related to Hajj and Trade in accordance with Islamic principles through comprehensive lessons and detailed analysis.

Quran

The subject of Quran is a foundational component of Islamic studies that focuses on understanding the language and grammar of the Quran. This lesson is a continuation of the previous Quranic Arabic classes, covering the third two juz’ (portions) of the Quran. It aims to further deepen students’ understanding of Arabic vocabulary, grammar, and the meanings of selected verses from these sections.

Ijraa

The Nahw and Sarf application class is designed to help students bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge of Arabic grammar (Nahw) and verb morphology (Sarf) and their practical application in everyday communication. This course focuses on enhancing students’ proficiency in using Arabic grammar and verb forms accurately and confidently. Through a combination of interactive exercises, practical assignments, and real-life scenarios, students will develop the necessary skills to apply Nahw and Sarf rules effectively in spoken and written Arabic.

Qirat Rashida

The Arabic literature lesson Qirat al-Rashida focuses on the book “Qirat al-Rashida,” a collection of tales meticulously prepared to introduce learners to a broad variety of vocabulary, expressions, and contexts to immerse you in engaging narratives aimed to improve your Arabic language abilities. Through engaging narratives and interactive activities, you will expand your linguistic repertoire, improve comprehension, and gain confidence in using Arabic effectively.

Aqeeda

Aqeeda (Islamic Creed) is an important component of Islamic studies that focuses on understanding and expressing Islam’s essential principles. This subject focuses on studying Aqeeda Tahawiya, a well-known classical text composed by Imam Abu Ja’far al-Tahawi. The aim is to provide students a thorough grasp of Islamic creed, theology, and the key principles outlined in Aqeeda Tahawiya.
